Commodore Samuel Tucker

At the burial site of Commodore Samuel Tucker in Bremen, Maine. Tucker commanded the frigate "Boston," in which he took John Adams, the newly appointed Minister to France, in February, 1778. Tucker delivered Adams and his son John Quincy safely to Bordeaux, after a trip through storms and sea battles.

Thanks Jon and Jane S.!

  1. I am distantly related to Commodore Samuel Tucker, and interestingly enough my name is also Samuel Tucker. I had heard of the statue but never had seen it until now. Very cool!
